The longest day so far with a few big hills along the route. Scenery in this shot was typical and really amazing to cycle through. The day started with climbing for an hour or so followed by a fast decent for a few minutes. the sun then came out and made it a very nice but hot ride afterwards for the 66 miles. Stopped in fort augustus for lunch and had bagpipes playing. Made a bad choice to nip to the supermarket for water as the swing bridge opened at the lock and we were stranded for a while. Found the plaque that alasdair told me about en route and i will post the picture later. stopped a number of times in roadside laybys just to drink but phil did push his bike to the end of one before setting which i feel means he cant claim to have cycled the whole way, until he goes back and completes that 10 yards which i will remind him about over the next 2 weeks. Had a nice surprise at the last 2 hotels - two bags of sweets from my carillion buddies, all of which has been scooffed - thanks for that. Eating more food than ever at the moment!! Tomorrow is another long day to loch lomond, hope the legs keep going and the rain gods keep away again...
